Wire and Assembly

Clear Coat

Built a little wire hanger contraption to suspend the guitar body in air. Takes 30 minutes for first coat to dry, then every 2 hours to reapply another coat.

Mock up

Did some final painting, sanding, and routing of the body. So this is basically what the guitar will look like in its final stage, just with more shine and glossy look.

Body cutting and shaping

Used a band saw to cut out the body. Poplar wood was a little bit different to cut on, but the band saw made quick work of it.

milled out the neck pocket and also the control channel (the milled out line on the body where the volume, toggle switch, and tone control will go.

this is the basic draw up, trying to figure out exactly how the body will be shaped.

The Jimmy Special Mk. II

Refined body shape. Tele style set up for bridge, pick up's, and neck. here are the 2 body blanks of POPLAR wood. Used poplar because its the cheapest of the hardwoods. Nice characteristics of being very hard yet very light of the tone-woods.
